Several carriers are available with different types for different shaped hulls. Horizontal and vertical/upright carriers are available. If you want to transport your kayak alongside other cargo on the roof rack such as a roof box or bikes then you'll need an upright/vertical carrier that supports the kayak on edge, such as the Thule Kayak Stacker, Thule Hull-A-Port and Hull-A-Port Pro.
